People often ask me “How did you become an Architect?” I usually answer “One is born an Architect”. I truly believe this. It started for me, like for many others, at an early age with a desire to construct, draw, and sculpt in the sand. I used to retreat to my room as a child and just draw and design for entertainment. I feel fortunate for having had this awareness, even as a child, for it saved me from trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I always knew. I designed my first building at 12 years old, and it was constructed by me, my father, and my uncles. The plans I produced were used to pull a construction permit. Now, I get to work with my great fiends in a creative field where growing up is somewhat optional!
